Toddler Environment
The toddler years are the time when children use their bodies, senses, and emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world, in ways most meaningful and effective for them. Toddlers actively seek out information, learn quickly and easily, and are especially interested in demonstrating independence. Our toddler classrooms allow them the freedom to learn as much as they can, as quickly as possible.
Our Montessori toddler program offers a nurturing, developmentally focused environment where young children engage in hands-on activities that foster independence, practical life skills, and social-emotional growth. With a focus on multi-sensory exploration, language enrichment, and guided freedom, toddlers are encouraged to explore, create, and learn at their own pace in a safe, supportive setting.
Our Montessori based Toddler Environment and Experience
Prepared Environment with Thoughtfully Curated Space:
The Toddler environment is more than a mere classroom; it is a home away from home for children ages 18 months to 3 years. Our classrooms are designed to meet the independent and curious nature of a toddler, allowing them to freely explore in a beautiful, carefully prepared environment that is just their size.
Freedom within Structure:
In our program, while children are free to choose their activities, the environment provides clear, gentle boundaries to promote a sense of order and respect. More than just a classroom, Herndon Montessori offers a caring, nurturing, social community in which the child learns to participate in a cooperative group and is guided along the path of independence and, thereby, freedom.
We welcome toddlers in diapers and pull-ups and are eager to advise and support your toilet training efforts for your toddler when they are ready. Each student in our Toddler program has the opportunity to:
